So, it didn't happen in 2012.

In the final analysis, I didn't have enough confidence in the bike to head off for a couple of thousand miles on my own.

I've bought another bike, partly with that in mind.  It has just under 23,000 miles on the clock.

New tyres and a new battery were fitted in May 2011, and it was fully serviced at that time.  Since then it has done a bit less than 500 miles.

It has been garaged and covered whilst stood up.

I am the second owner on the v5.  MOT expires June 2014 and tax expires Dec 2013.

A small area of paint damage behind left indicator on the fairing - it is very minor and was done in transit when moving it in a van.

While it has been stood covered and it has had a small spider get into the speedo which is a tad annoying so may need to strip the speedo to remove it.

Unfortunately the service book has been lost although it has been serviced regularly by owner and condition relates this.

Otherwise it is a near-pristine and completely unmolested example of a great bike.

I rode it the 150 miles back from Coventry to Norwich on 11th July 2013 and it ran sweetly and seemed to be quite a bit more economical than my old 1991 model.  Took a couple of hours, though....
